Work included visual Hydraulic Steel Structure (HSS) inspection of stoplogs and tainter gates, 3-D modeling and analysis utilizing STAAD. Pro software, non- destructive testing, structural repair design, welding (per AWS D1.5M/D1.5), corrosion repair, abrasive blasting, lead-based paint removal over and on water, wire rope replacement, cathodic protection removal and installation, and design and replacement of hoist controls and switches and replacement of existing crane with rehab work on the crane rail system. QP1/QP2 certification was required.
Paragon was also contracted to have 11 stop logs designed and fabricated for the USACE. Abrasive blast cleaned 36 tainter gates (40 feet wide x 29 feet high) to a SSPC SP-5 and applied multiple coating systems to the tainter gates that included 5-E-Z Vinyl.QP1 & QP1 Certified Contractor
